Art History doctoral candidate Sarah Kleinman has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship for the 2018-19 academic year. She will be conducting research for her forthcoming dissertation, “The Curatorial Practice of Kynaston McShine, 1969–1971,” at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine campus in Trinidad and Tobago. As part of the project, Kleinman will be working with professors in the Faculty of Humanities and Education to investigate primary and secondary educational systems in McShine’s homeland, focusing on the intersections of education, culture and the arts in Trinidad.

She urges all VCUarts students to go to the VCU National Scholarship Office (NSO) to discuss possibilities for their own Fulbright projects. Current juniors, seniors, grad students, alumni, and faculty are eligible to apply.
