Ashley Hawkins (BFA ’07) talked to the Richmond Times-Dispatch about her best and worst business decisions since founding Studio Two Three in 2009.

Best business decision: “Expanding and moving Studio Two Three to the Scott’s Addition neighborhood in 2015. The neighborhood is centrally located and the perfect place to grow a creative, community-driven enterprise.”

Mistake you learned the most from: “Learning to say ‘no,’ or ‘not right now,’ has been a lesson learned from saying ‘yes’ and taking on too much. We have found that we can be a lot of things for a lot of people, but we also want to be excellent in what we do. Knowing what you don’t do, or don’t do as well as others, is a really important lesson.”
