Department of Kinetic Imaging professor, sound artist and electronic musician Stephen Vitiello will be speaking for SONICBernheim/Hunter’s Moon on October 16 to talk about his project, “Sound and Installations.” SONICBernheim is a site-specific lecture/performance series exploring the relationships between sound, music and nature at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.

“What more can you ask of a work of art than that it alter your breath — that it first make you aware of your own breathing and then slow it, shape it, sculpt it? Stephen Vitiello’s show at MC is revelatory in that most visceral way. It doesn’t just appear before you but instead engenders a kind of reciprocal occupation: You enter its realm and, in turn, the work makes its way into both body and mind.” – Leah Ollman, The Los Angeles Times

Bernheim comprises 14,378 acres and is a respected environmental esthablishment. It is one of the largest forest blocks in the Eastern United States managed by a nonprofit organization whose mission includes conservation and education.
