Piano extraordinaire Lanjiabao Ge (B.F.A. ’16) knows a good thing when she sees it. Ge grew up in China, but had the great opportunity to continue her education in the United States. She found her Professor and mentor in Assistant Professor Yin Zheng, D.M.A.
“I always thought VCU had the best music program for me to attend, and the excellent music faculty deepened my interest in the program,” says Ge.
Ge, who has been in the states for six years, is in her fourth year at VCU and is the only international student in the music department. She credits the people around her for creating fond memories of her time at VCUarts.
“I’m very fortunate to have the faculty, the environment, and of course, my friends,” says Ge. “It really feels like I am part of this big family. Everyone is caring and supportive and it makes me so happy to be here.”
Ge specifically credits VCU Music for her success.
