We are pleased to announce that Gavagai, developed by VCUarts Cinema professor Kirk Kjeldsen and Rob Tregenza, program director, as well as Garry Winogrand: All Things Are Photographable, created by Photography + Film chair Sasha Waters Freyer, have been placed in Richard Brody’s Best Movies of 2018 by The New Yorker. Garry Winogrand: All Things Are Photographable is one of only eleven documentaries on the list.
Gavagai is described as a ‘visually virtuosic ghost story, set in Norway, about grief, poetry, landscape, and emotional recovery.’
