Congratulations to Jess Norris, a VCUarts Art Education graduate student, for winning the Virginia Commonwealth University’s Currents of Change student award for her work on the Food Landscapes project.
This award celebrates projects led by students that benefit VCU students, staff, faculty, alumni, and our community partners on local, state, regional, national, and global levels.
The Food Landscapes project is an effort to educate youth living in food deserts about proper food acquisition and preparation. One way this project will spark community engagement is by teaching the youth cooking techniques that they will then in turn teach to adults with disabilities.
