The VCUarts campus in Doha, Qatar, and a few established graduates, were recently featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. VCUarts Qatar is a part of Education City, a collection of some of the world’s major universities including Carnegie Mellon and Texas A&M.
Its graduates are from all over the world, but the biggest impact has been in the country itself as VCUarts Qatar helped change the fabric of society in Qatar, particularly for women. Its Qatari enrollment is primarily female, and its graduates now occupy positions within government, business and education. The country has undergone a quiet revolution of sorts, and now Qatar has the highest percentage of women in the workforce in the Middle East and is not far behind Europe and America in that respect. A lot of this change is attributable to VCUarts Qatar and the curriculum it offers.
