Sculpture + Extended Media alumna Diana Al-Hadid (MFA ’05) was recently interviewed by The New York Times discussing how she balancing her studio practice with being a wife and the mother of a toddler.
Sundays used to be just regular workdays for me, but now I have a 2½-year-old and I’m married and stuff, so I do a little more family time. We wake up when August wakes up, at like 6 or 6:30. Hopefully it’s not 5:30. Then it’s normal toddler life. We kind of trade off with each other, feeding him and going through our to-do list. Like, I’m going to do the dishes, you can relax in bed a little. It’s a little boring and tedious.
