Craft/Material Studies alumnae Emily McBride (M.F.A. ’16) and Victoria Ahmadizadeh (M.F.A. ’16) have been selected for the prestigious 2016 Stanislav Libenský Award, the world’s only international glass exhibition for artists at the graduate level. Established in 2009 and named for famed glasswork artist and pedagogist Stanislav Libenský, the competition serves as an international presentation of young glass artists. The aim of the competition is to help the development of glass art in the young scene and to compare different approaches and methods. Of the 39 artists selected for 2016, there are 16 countries represented, and McBride and Ahmadizadeh are the only artists from the United States.
