Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts is pleased to announce that five alumni will attend the Skowhegan summer residency.
VCUarts alumni Perrin Turner (B.F.A. ’16), Levester Williams (M.F.A. ’16), Macon Reed (B.F.A. ’07), Danya Smith (B.F.A. ’15), and Melanie McLain (M.F.A. ’12) will spend nine weeks in the intensive residency for emerging visual artists at the Skowhegan campus in Maine.
“The Skowhegan Fellowship is an outstanding artist’s fellowship opportunity, and we’re very excited that we’ll have five VCUarts graduates represented this year,” said Dean Joseph H. Seipel. “We’re so proud of them.”
VCUarts Graduate Studies provides these artists, who are selected by Skowhegan, support through funding to enable participation in this prestigious program. The Skowhegan residency runs from June 11 through August 13.
