Papercuts was recognized by SECAC Southeastern College Art Conference for the The 2012 SECAC Award for Outstanding Exhibition and Catalogue of Contemporary Materials. This award is given in recognition of an exhibition (within the last two years) of contemporary materials that by its design, installation, and/or catalogue is considered exemplary. This year’s winner was for Papercuts, curated by Painting and Printmaking professor Reni Gower. Jurors found that the premise of the show as a bold idea and found the essay informative. Papercuts is an exhibition that has been displayed at numerous venues across the country including: The Center for the Living Arts, Space 301, in Mobile, Al, The Welch School Galleries of Georgia Sate University, Atlanta, GA, The Heron School of Art and Design, Indianapolis, IN, and The University of Akron, Myers School of Art, Akron, OH. The catalog essay is by Teresa Bramlette Reeves, Director of the Kennesaw State University Art Museums.
